Chicken was fine.
Despite when placing our order I advised of allergies ie shellfish, sweet corn, peanuts, the Wonton contained shrimp. This is shellfish. Once home and as soon as it became apparent that shrimp (shellfish!) was present in the soup, I called the Hong Kong Palace (spoke to a female) and was told categorically shrimp is not in the soup. My wife and I inspected the soup more closely and we confirmed shrimp was present. I called Hong Kong Palace again and spoke to a male who eventually advised yes, 3 shrimp was in the Wonton Soup. I was then passed to a female voice and I explained the problem and the impact of my wife consuming shellfish. I explained had the soup been eaten, I would be talking to her from the local ER. This seemed to be lost on her as the female then said, Whats the problem. At that point, despite having said previously we were not bringing the soup back for refund or anything else, I advised we would bring the soup back and show the shrimp. We returned to the Hong Kong Palace, and my wife showed the counter lady and gent her 2 x Epi Pens which she carries all the time. The conversation then turned to we, as customers, should have known our ordered soup would contain shrimp. I rejected this and stated when the order was placed on line, Hong Kong Palace should have called me and advised. They had my contact number.
The moral of the story is, if ordering from Hong Kong Palace and you have allergies, be aware of what is in the food BEFORE you consume!
